48. Of Blacks and Reds

No I’m not talking about African-Americans who hit on me before and no I am not talking about the Communists who were recruiting my brother to join them in the mountains. I am talking about colors which we’ll be seeing in the near future. I just hope it won’t be my lungs since I’ve been suffering from bronchitis for the second time in the last four months. 

The interwebs have been buzzing with Frank Miller’s latest baby, The Spirit, another film adaptation based on the newspaper comics where Frank Miller will direct and write.  As we all know this awesome dude gave us excellent movies like Sin City and 300. Now with his new project people are awaiting what kind of happies Frank Miller will give us. The cast includes Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Louis Lombardi, Eva Mendes, Jamie King and Scarlett Johansson. Here is the poster blatantly copied from the person who’s always on the scoop, Cinemabuzz’s own,  Coco. Thanks dude.

My City Screams: Sin City-ish!!

It does look like a bit Sin City-ish especially the coloration and crap which I won’t pretend to understand. Oh come on! I hated people who knew crap and talked too much like when 300 went out. People were like saying “ang ganda! ginamitan pa ng saturation yung 300″ and all that shit I really don’t get. Although judging from the trailer. The first thing that entered my mind was SINCITY! Come on, it looks the same and I get how awesometastic Sin City is but let’s just leave it at that. Especially, when there are talks that a Sin City part two is in the works.

I have been Zerofied!! Take that coke! That is actually a better marketing cliche than “I’ll sue myself” line you’ve been flooding the internet with! I have completely shifted from the regular diabetic enducing Coca Cola drink I’ve been downing the past 28 years of my life!! Ok not really 28 years because that would mean I was feeding on coke when I was still an infant but I know you guys get the idea. I shifted to Coke Zero because it does taste great. I’m not saying it tastes the same because it doesn’t. But Coke Zero taste better than Coke Light. At least now I can regulate my carbohydrate intake unless when I’m downing a case of San Mig Light right? Before, I used to consume an average of one 1.5L Coke a day which I know is partly why I have a huge tummy. My “suking tindahan” was actually worried because they really felt their demand for regular coke go down when I shifted. I told them to order coke zero and alas they did and now my Coke Zero is available in my “suking tindahan” although there are times when I consume coke zero so much that they experience out of stocks. 

 No Sugar yay!

I just found out they also have Coke Cherry Zero and Coke Vanilla Zero in other markets like USA. Although I know, judging from experience, these products will not take off here. After all we’re a country with a lot of ignorant people. I have this one neighbor who told me he can’t drink anymore because he’s diabetic. Not yet full blown though the doctor told him not to drink carbonates anymore. I told him why not try coke zero. It has no sugar. He agreed and the following day I saw him again and I asked,

“have you tried coke zero?” with the really concerned look on my face. 

“Yup, and you’re pulling my leg” he says. “Coke zero is sweet. It has suger!” 

Shocked, I replied “No it doesn’t, it has aspartame! What the hell are you drinking now besides water?”

“I’m drinking SPARKLE” He said confidently.

“Sparkle? But that has sugar! It’s not a diet soda!” I exclaimed.

He answers back a little irritated. “Well, it’s not that sweet and besides it has orange juice. I need vitamin C”

I shut up threw my yosi and walked away.
