64. Diet Update: Winning over temptations

August 17, 2008

Wednesday I woke up and got out of my bed. I went out to pee and drink a glass of water. Even though we played badminton “like there’s no tomorrow” the night before, I felt good. I felt light and had a lot of energy. My mom unexpectedly told me to hop on the weighing scale which was kind of weird considering how she was looking at me. I pulled out the bathroom weighting scale and voila! I weighed an astounding 204lbs!! The news shocked my mom because I lost six pounds in just five days.

I have a new secret on how to lose weight and I want to gloat – share it with everyone:

I simply EAT WHAT I WANT.

I’m not kidding! You see, before, I usually compare food with women. (shallow? Iknorite?) They both have the same arsenal of weapons which is a known basic human weakness, seduction and temptation. Women usually use seduction to lure us good looking guys (ehem) and make us want them so much that we cross our limitations and boundaries. The same thing applies with food though, have you ever seen such mouth watering food that you can’t help but have a small bite? Then again, why not take another bite? And another… And another… Until you’ve consumed the entire dollop of food.

Sadly, the similarities end there, you don’t eat every woman you see and meet (obviously). But with food, I’d ask you, why not? You see, the harder you try to resist something, the more you crave it and the more you want it. So why resist? Give in right? Have a taste. There’s nothing wrong with having just one bite right? (Yeah tell that to Adam and Eve)

So last Wednesday, I rewarded myself for losing weight. I treated myself to Arabela’s in Liliw, Laguna. It’s a popular restaurant here in the south. Good food and good service with an affordable price tag.

They specialize in pasta, especially their pesto? To die for! They also serve awesome pizza. They have this unique pizza which is smothered with Laguna’s specialty, Kesong Puti and it just taste heavenly. Unless, you hate cheese don’t eat kesong puti right? Duh?

But I ate one of my all time favorites, another one of their specialty, a heavy porterhouse steak baby! Yeah!

I also ate some rice and even their veggies were delicious. So if you’re in the area of Liliw, Laguna buying longganiza, buying shoes from badong or simply joyriding in the area. Don’t forget to drop by Arabela’s.

I still have 19 pounds to go until I hit my desired weight. Thanks to everyone who has given me props, much love everyone!

I am Joel and I am an alcoholic. My name? Joel Avatari. Yes, Avatari is my second name. That is why I am in i.ph because the url avatar.i.ph is so hard not to use. I live in the south side of the metro and I am not really a hardcore blogger. I blog when I have something to say or share. I also flame when I have to. In real life I am a work slave of an American company. I have been called an Asian monkey when I was in Australia and I I have hurled on the streets of clean Singapore. Oh did I forget to mention? I am Joel and I am who I am.
